Canals and Rivers

A canal is a man-made water course. Canals are generally of two types,


1. Canals for human use such as abstraction of fresh water or water for agriculture or water storage or water conveyance.

2. Canals for communication or transportation such as large cargo ships. which usually connects several lakes, rivers or oceans. Such as Suez Canal, Panama Canal. There are also canals called urban canals that run through different cities. Such as Venice, Amsterdam or Bangkok.

There are no rivers in Kuragacha Union. The only canal is the Guja canal which flows through Pirojpur village.
